
Ealing
Children's Choir was founded in the 1950's, and
is now administered by Ealing Junior Music School. It
provides girls and boys aged 7-14 with the opportunity of
singing high-quality choral repertoire, in EJMS and local
events as well as further afield. ECC has appeared on Sky TV and
performed in large-scale concerts such as Benjamin
Britten's War
Requiem, Carl Orff's
Carmina
Burana and the world premiere of Paul
Ayres's The
Christ.
Other recent
repertoire includes music by Bach, Handel and popular songs
such as Yesterday, The Rhythm of
Life, The Very Thought of You, Take the
A-Train, and Shenandoah.

Choir rehearses on Saturdays
10.30am.-11.30am. and new members are always welcome. The
Choir is conducted by the Assistant Music Director, Sarah
Wilby.


Ealing
Youth Choir was founded in 1985 and is open
to all singers aged 10-21 who enjoy a wide range of
music-making. The choir has been on TV (London Tonight) and
radio (Classic FM). Since 2004 it has been running
as part of EJMS, rehearsing on Saturdays
11.30am-12.30pm.
We
perform all kinds of music: by Purcell, Monteverdi, Lennon
& McCartney, Bach, arrangements of popular songs,
Vivaldi, spirituals, Britten, Ward Swingle, madrigals,
improvisation and new compositions.
In 1997 EYC won an award from
the National Lottery's Arts for Everyone Scheme,
facilitating a series of choral workshops with leading
tutors (Mike Brewer of the National Youth Choir of Great
Britain, Ken Burton of the London Adventist Chorale, Keel
Watson of English National Opera and Roddy Skeaping of City
Waites).
The Choir is conducted by the Music Director, Scott Price.
New members are always welcome.
In addition, there is the EJMS Adult Chorale, a chamber
choir for adults - all welcome.
