Free Double Bass Lessons are on offer for a term at EJMS once again - speak to the Music Director or the Administrator if you might be interested in trying this wonderful instrument.
Pianist Required! for the Jazz Band (Rehearses between 11.30 am and midday in the New Drama Studio - speak to the Music Director if you would like to give it a try - you should be at least Grade 6 on the piano and ideally be quite a good reader. No previous knowledge of jazz required!
New Staff joining EJMS Sandra Porter will join us to teach singing and Alan Oliver will now formally replace Martin Pope to teach the guitar – Martin has decided not to rejoin the School after his sabbatical term last term. Joe Devalle joins us to teach the violin – bringing our number of violin teachers to nine! John Lynsdale Nock is also to leave unfortunately, having moved away during the Summer - he will teach at the beginning of term however until a replacement teacher is found.
The Fire Drill will be held at some point on Saturday 18 September. On hearing the alarm please can all students and parents proceed immediately to the grass area outside the main school building. Please wait there until the Music Director gives the all clear to return. This will happen even if it is raining so please come prepared! The End of Term Concert will be on Saturday 27 November at 6 pm for the Junior Ensembles and 7.30 pm for the Senior Ensembles in Twyford School’s Performance Centre (the Main Hall). There will also be a recital this term at 7 pm on 13 November at St Stephen’s, West Ealing. I am intending that the EJMS children’s choirs will sing at this Recital alongside chamber items and solos.
Accompaniment and Aural Lessons
If you are taking a practical exam this term then please sign down for lessons with our pianists as soon as possible. You may chose a time to suit for the first three weeks but please remember that the times for the remaining lessons of the term will be arranged only once we have all the entries and your time may be altered from that first chosen.
School Parking Important Notice
All cars must enter the Twyford site through the Uxbridge Road entrance (by the Sports Hall). There is very limited Parking Space and so if you can park on the surrounding streets or come to EJMS by any other means then please do so.
