ELEMENTARY STRING ORCHESTRA
The Elementary
String Orchestra (ESO) is for our younger string players at EJMS. It's
for total beginners through to grade 2 players.
Andreas Manoras directs the orchestra which rehearses for 45 minutes on
Saturday mornings and prepares for a concert that they give at the end
of each term. We always welcome parents to attend rehearsals so they can
watch, and even encourage their children to practise at home.
The repertoire we cover includes many well known classical works by famous
composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Mozart. It has been carefully
arranged and adapted to suit the standard of the children.
The ESO provides invaluable orchestral experience for children, and is
a stepping stone to the more advanced ensembles such as the Philharmonic Orchestra.
